State Congress Spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla has demanded removal of officials posted in a single district for many years.
In a letter to the Election Commission, Shukla stated that it is necessary for conduct of free and fair polls that government officers and employees posted for the last three years at a single location and directly or indirectly involved in poll work be immediately shifted to other districts.
This apart, the postings of officers in the Secretariat and the Police headquarters who would have a significant role to play in the Assembly polls must also be altered immediately, he demanded.
Sharma also demanded that action must be taken in cases where an official’s posting had been changed in the same district even after he had spent three years in the district instead of transferring him to another district.
