Just a day before the beginning of Monsoon Session of Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly, the BJP has accused State Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel of taking undue benefit of his post and getting land allotted in residential schemes run by Bhilai Special Area Development Authority (SADA) in the days of undivided Madhya Pradesh.
“Bhupesh Baghel who was elected as Member of legislative Assembly from Patan for the tenure 1993 to 1998 during undivided Madhya Pradesh had got merged 12 small plots into two large plots and then got it allotted in the name of his wife and mother which is clear violation of laid down rule and regulation,” alleged BJP leader and former MlA Vijay Baghel on a press conference here.
According to Vijay Baghel, as per the rules, once the layout has approved by competent agency it cannot be changed without permission from the State Government.
“In this case, 6 different plots of size 6X6 meter square and 6X12 meter square were merged into two new plots by SADA and were allotted to Bhupesh Baghel’s wife and mother,” Baghel alleged adding Bhupesh being MlA was member of SADA.
To a query that why was the issue was being raised after 17 years and why no action was taken earlier, Vijay Baghel said that the party had proof of irregularities and will request the State Government to take action in this regard.
To another query that whether party will recommend for similar action against other persons who were allegedly involved in SADA land irregularities, he said that FIR should be registered against all such persons.
BJP Spokesperson and MlA Shivratan Sharma who was also present in the press conference demanded resignation from Bhupesh Baghel from the post of CGPCC chief.
