Newly-appointed Deputy leader of Opposition and Congress legislator, Kawasi lakhma has demanded to call a one-day special session of Chhattisgarh Assembly for nullifying the Bill regarding amendment in land Revenue Code which facilitates acquisition of the tribal land.
Talking to reporters at Congress Bhawan on Monday, lakhma said it was a ‘black law’ and was an attempt of the Government to snatch the land of tribals for providing it to the private industrialists. Only by speaking verbally, the matter was not resolved and the Government needs to withdraw the Bill in the Assembly, he said.
“I appeal to the Chief Minister to call a special one-day session of the Assembly to take back the Bill”, he added.
