Congress activists on Thursday burnt the effigy of Union Minister Prahlad Patel for his comment on paddy purchase by the Baghel government.
“The demonstration was done at all district headquarters," a Congress spokesperson said.
At a public meeting in Khairagarh on Wednesday, Patel flayed the Baghel government for providing Rs 2,500 per quintal price of paddy to farmers. ”This will make the state bankrupt due to excessive loans."
PCC chief Mohan Markam charged the Minister with being ‘mentally bankrupt’ and being anti-farmer. He asked the BJP to express regret over the statement.
