Claiming tremendous success and the huge public support to the Parivartan Yatra, the state Congress media cell president Shailesh Nitin Trivedi on Saturday accused the BJP government in Chhattisgarh of politicisation of Vikas Yatra.
He alleged that on the one hand the Government has taken out the ‘Political Yatra’ on government expenses and on the other the development, on which the Vikas Yatra has been taken out, could not be seen in the State. He said, in the name of development, the BJP has gifted scams, corruption, misrule and breach of promises to the people of the state. Against these, the people of Chhattisgarh, holding the tricolour of the Congress and shouting slogans like “Bahut hogaya atyachar, bahut hogaya bhrashtachar, badalo, badalo yeh sarkar” taking part in the Parivartan Yatra, he added.
Trivedi alleged that in the name of Vikas Yatra and in view of the coming assembly election, the Government officers have issued instructions for the repair of the roads which were not repaired for the last 9 years. He said that the officials have been given the responsibility of gathering people for the Vikas Yatra functions.
He said, it was a living example of the fact that the people of the State were not happy with the Raman Singh Government, that the it was making efforts to gather people in the name of tendupatta bonus, one year bonus of paddy sari distribution.
The proposal to use vehicles with BJP colours in the Yatra makes it very clear that the BJP is conspiring to take political benefits from the Yatra by misusing the public fund and government machinery.
The Congress dared the state government to make public the details of government expenses incurred on the helicopters hired for the preparation of Vikas Yatra. Trivedi alleged that the BJP office-bearers were moving on these helicopters at government cost.
Under the pre-election preparations the EC has started the process of amendment in the voter’s list. In such a situation, the public money being used in the Government Yatras for the political benefit of the party, should be recovered from the BJP and it should be added in the BJP’s election expenses, Trivedi demanded.
The Congress, in a letter written to the election commission, demanded to put a curb in the misuse of huge public money in the Vikas Yatara, being taken out for political benefit of the ruling party.
