Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said state government will make all efforts to resolve the issues faced by business community.
He was addressing the 60th annual convention of Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) as chief guest on Thursday at Deendayal Upadhayay auditorium, Raipur.
“There is a need to simplify taxes to facilitate and assist growth of business in the state. If necessary, State government will hold discussions with CCCI representatives on the issue,” Baghel assured.
Chief Minister said, the first priority of the government was to fill money in the pockets of farmers for which agricultural loan was waived off and paddy was procured at a minimum support price of Rs 2500 per quintal. This indirectly promoted business.
The automobile sector’s growth rate is higher in the state where two-wheelers, harvester and tractor are being sold. Other states have recorded slower growth from January 2019 while the state registered 36% growth, he pointed out.
Chief Minister felicitated 29 members and office bearers of the CCCI for their contribution to chamber-related activities.
Baghel said there is an ample opportunity to establish minor forest produce and agriculture based industries in the state. “This will help increase employment opportunities. Kondagaon will have maize processing unit soon. Rice based value addition industries can also be established,” he added.
CCCI chairman Jitendra Barlota gave the welcome address.
