As many as 67 Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) are operational in the State and complaints have been received against a total of 31 companies. Cases have been registered on 35 complaints. This was disclosed by Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra in the Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly on Monday. In a written reply to a question by Congress member Amarjeet Bhagat, Paikra said that there is no provision for registration of NBFCs in the State as these are registered by the Office of Registrar of Companies (ROC), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
Information is being collected regarding registration of NBFCs from the Regional Office of ROC at Bilaspur. letter has been given to the Non Banking Supervision Department of Reserve Bank of India, Bhopal in this regard. The companies against which complaints have been received include Sai Prakash Properties, HBN Dairy, Silicon Project, Future Gold, Astha Goat Farming limited, Vinayak Homes and Real Estate, IWC Marketing, JlB Producer, Sun Shine Infrastructure, Green Ray International limited, and more, he said.
As many as 39 persons have been arrested in the cases registered while 24 issues are pending with the court and 9 are with the police. In addition to this, total of 14 complaints are under investigation, Paikra replied. HBN Company has provided Rs10,95,17753 to 3750 investors through cheques and demand drafts from the date of complaints lodged till February 10, 2015.
