The community marriage ceremony held under the ‘Mukya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojana’ would be held in the district headquarters on May 17. As a result, a total of 1,000 couples had been registered for the ceremony by the project officers of the district.
A meeting to this effect was held under the chairmanship of District Programme Officer, Woman and Child development Department Dildaar Singh Maraabi to review the preparations being made for the ceremony.
During the meeting, Maraabi categorically stated that under no circumstances registration for marriage ceremony be made for people who had either been previously married or children as pairs.
