Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday  reiterated his commitment to  provide reservation to Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) as per their population.

Addressing a public meeting at Charama in the Bhanupratappur assembly constituency, Baghel said a bill regarding a hike in quota was to be tabled in the Chhattisgarhe assembly on Friday.

Citing welfare works, Baghel said his government working to directly deposit money in people’s pockets.

Whether it is Kisan Nyay Scheme, Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor Scheme, Godhan Nyay scheme or the           procurement of minor forest produce on support price, all are meant to directly benefit the common men, he said.

He promised to execute the pending works dreamt by the late Manoj Mandavi. For that, he urged voters to elect his widow Savitri Mandavi by "double the margin", Baghel said. Hitting out at former Chief Minister Raman Singh for terming him a "mouse", Baghel said the tenure of Singh was known for the Jhaliamari sex scandel in Kanker. Now they have fielded a "rapist" as a candidate in the by-election at Bhanupratappur, he said.
