Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday claimed that state government was committed to make farmers prosperous, it doesn’t matter whatever the circumstances would be.
Baghel while addressing a Kisan Summit at a hotel in Raipur, said Chhattisgarh had adopted the ‘Suraji Gaon’ model in state as per the dream of Mahatma Gandhi.
`` As per promises made in Congress election manifesto, we have won farmers’ hearts with a flurry of major farmers-friendly measures such as loan waiver, irrigation tax waiver and procurement of paddy on Minimum Support Price (MSP)’’, Baghel opined.
The flagship Rajiv Kisan Nyay Yojana has been launched by Chhattisgarh government because of which the acreage of farming has been increased and the numbers of registered farmers have also gone up, he added.
``The agriculture in Chhattisgarh is now seen as a profitable business and all the credit goes to this flagship scheme’’, Baghel remarked.
