Chhattisgarh favours reservation as per constitutional arrangement for Scheduled Tribe and Schedule Caste and Other Backward Classes based on Mandal Commission and now for the Supreme Court-approved Economically Weaker Sections, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Monday.
On reservation in the state, he said it was the sin of the BJP that the Scheduled Tribe reservation is now at 20 percent. The Congress government will rectify this. Tribal leaders have been assured this and the reservation rights will be restored to them.
He said the people of Himachal Pradesh wanted a "parivartan" (change), and he accused the BJP which rules the hill state of making tall promises which have not been fulfilled.
On the Bhanupratappur assembly election, Baghel said he had full faith that people will bless the Congress. This seat was already held by the Congress and it will retain it, he said.
