Collector, SP inspect Bhavareedeh bridge construction work

Collector Dhananjay Devangan and District Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena inspected the under-construction Bhavareedeh Bridge which will connect Jagadalpur, Narayanpur and Kondagaon.  The bridge, which is important for the development of many villages, will connect 50 villages of these districts and also will help fight Naxals.

Earlier, the district administration had tried a lot to construct a bridge on the Bhavareedeh River, but as the region is insurgency infested, the Maoists have always been against construction of the bridge and once they had even exploded the bridge. But this time, the administration and the Police Department have decided to complete this work at any cost.

An anti-landmine squad has been keeping a vigil and taking care of the development of the partially completed bridge. The Collector and the SP had also inspected the site on a regular interval. The bridge is expected to open for public before 2016. Collector Dhananjay Devangan said that the district administration has taken construction of this bridge as a challenge.  SP Abhishek Meena said that “the Contractor has been given all possible protection and we hope for the completion of the project before 2016 as half of the work has been completed last year.”
