District Collector, Shyam Dhawade on Tuesday reviewed the status of poll preparation work assigned to Nodal Officers in the district.
Chairing a meeting, the Collector especially sought information about progress made in the implementation of Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
Dhawade also took information from District Education Officer (DEO) and Assistant Commissioner, Tribal Welfare about the awareness drive being carried out for voters under the programme.
While discussing key aspects of electoral work, he directed the Nodal Officers to work in a better way.
The Collector also directed the officials to create awareness among people about VVPAT machine besides generating awareness about postal ballot, maintaining law and order situation, making available Tricycle for differently abled and about other important issues related to polls.
Later, he also reviewed in the meeting the pending cases of compassionate appointments in the district and instructed for early disposal of the same.
Dhawde instructed the concerned officials to be prepared for paddy procurement under Minimum Support Price and for making necessary preparations in all the 60 procurement centers in the district.
