District Collector Yashwant Kumar has issued directives to the officials that necessary arrangements be made as per the Action Plan prepared for rescue and relief operations to be undertaken under the disaster management exercise in the district.
In a meeting chaired by the Collector to review the preparedness of the district officials regarding disaster management in the district, Kumar stated that in case of a flood situation emerging in any part of the district, the affected must immediately be rescued and relief exercise put in place.
He also directed that the rain gauges be caliberated and data from them be collected regularly from the established Rain Measurement centres.
Kumar directed that the location of relief camps for the affected be decided in advance and necessary supplies in sufficient quantity such as food grains, kerosene and salt etc be ensured in the inaccessible regions. In case of water being released from dams , the authorities must inform regarding such an action before releasing water from the dams.
