Collector inspects MNREGA works in Bargaon village

The newly constructed lake at Bargaon village in Sahaspur lohara block under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) will prove as a blessing for the villagers in the district. Bargaon, a dependent village of Mohgaon village panchayat, has a population of 280.

As the village does not have any lake, the residents had to depend on the hand pumps or the private bore wells of the farmers for their daily needs.

Collector P Dayanand on Friday inspected the various works in progress sanctioned under MNREGA in Sahaspur lohara block. District panchayat CEO Bipin Manjhi informed the Collector about the jobs provided to the registered families under MNREGA in different village panchayats of the block. The Collector also inspected the Dharsa road construction work.

He collected information from the registered families about the jobs they are getting continuously under MNREGA. He also discussed about delay in getting their wages.

The villagers expressed gratitude towards the district administration for the sanction of a lake in Bargaon. The villagers had completed construction of the lake costing Rs8.32 lakh within three weeks. They have demanded an Anganwadi Centre building in the village and soil-murram for the construction of Bargaon-Bisatola road.

The Collector instructed the district panchayat CEO for immediate sanction of Aanganbadi building and soil-murram for the construction of the road.
