CoBRA trooper critically injured in encounter

A Maoist was gunned down and a trooper of 206th Battalion of Combat Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) suffered critical injuries in an encounter with insurgents in forested patch of Elmaguda village on Tuesday morning in the restive Bastar division.  The injured trooper Satpal was later airlifted to Raipur in a helicopter after he received primary treatment in Sukma. 

A team of 206th Battalion CoBRA had left from Vipna Base Camp on Tuesday morning to conduct area and search domination exercise. While conducting the operations, security forces were ambushed by Maoists in forests of Elmaguda. The troopers  retaliated to the indiscriminate firing launched by Maoists. A trooper suffered bullet injuries in the fierce gun battle which lasted for half-an-hour. 

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) D Shravan a uniformed Maoist was killed in the encounter and a trooper Satpal suffered injuries in the attack, he said.
