Unprecedented number of people have started arriving in the Chief Minister Raman Singh’s ‘Jandharshan Programme’ to get their demands heard and problems solved from across Chhattisgarh.
On Thursday, around 1251 persons met Chief Minister Raman Singh during his weekly 'Jandarshan programme' at his residence in Raipur. This included 759 people of 101 delegations along with 493 others who came with individual applications.
The Chief Minister approved 10 construction works worth nearly Rs 34 lakh, in response to the memorandums submitted by Panchayat Representatives and other people hailing from various districts of Sstate. This includes construction of community halls, cement concrete road etc.
In response to the memorandum submitted by a delegation led by Prakash Gedam, Chairman of 'Aastha Multipurpose Welfare Society' that is dedicated for performing last rites of the unclaimed dead bodies Singh assured them that the organization will be extended all the support for this noble cause.
Gedam informed the Chief Minister that the organization has already received permission from Municipal Corporation and Rural and Urban Investment Offices for performing last rites of dead bodies at the cemetery in Pulgaon of Durg. However, they need approval of District Administration to carry out the noble work. 'Aastha Multipurpose Welfare Society' has been awarded with Maharaja Agrasen Award by Chhattisgarh Government in the field of social service.
Since the day of its foundation in year 2004, this organization has performed last rites of 750 unclaimed dead bodies. But they had to perform the last rites on river banks. It would be convenient for the organization to keep up the noble work, if they get permission to perform last rites at cemetery.
At the Jandarshan programme, people from village Bartori, Tehsil Tilda of Raipur district handed over memorandum to Chief Minister and demanded construction of bridge over railway line between Bartori and Bahesar.
The villagers told that the railway line is being constructed about 10-15 feet below the level of ground, for which a canal-like structure of 15 ft width and 15 ft depth has been dug. This has become the cause of inconvenience for farmers, villagers and school students, as this canal-like structure is obstructing the passage.
The Chief Minister forwarded the memorandum to Collector Raipur with instructions to ensure immediate redressal. Delegation of Ringi Rishi Gaushala Jeev Raksha Samiti from village Pandripani (Sihava) of Dhamtari district handed over memorandum to Chief Minister and told that the organization needs solar pumps for facilitating drinking water supply to 375 cattle in their cowshed. This organization has received Yatiyatan lal Ahimsa Award from State Government in past.
Mochan Kumar Sharma from village Akola of Dhamdha block in Durg district and other representatives met the Chief Minister and conveyed the demand of a Warehouse of capacity 200 metric tonnes in village Akola under cooperative society Oteband. Singh forwarded the memorandum to Collector Durg for immediate examination.
