Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday warned officials of Bastar not to let migrants from other states take benefit of government schemes.
He told the officials to make sure that the actual benefits filter down to domicile residents only.
Baghel was holding a review meeting of officers at Kanker as part of a direct public interaction drive (Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan) in Kanker assembly constituency.
Acknowledging the work of officers of Bastar, Baghel said it was due to them that people (Naxalites) have started joining the mainstream. The environment of fear among the employees has also reduced.
He said Naxalite activities have come down in the area as people have been linked with employment-oriented works. Schools were being restored, which has resulted in students making it to the merit list of board examinations.
The Water Resources Department, Narva Development Programme, Haat Bazar Clinic, Nal Jal Mission and employment oriented works of the district were reviewed.
Baghel laid emphasis on working in a scientific manner under ‘Narva’ (stop-dams on streams) development as it would help to increase the ground water level. It would also help to increase the green cover in the forest.
