Chief Minister Raman Singh on Tuesday emphasized over improving the quality of services provided by Anaganbadi centres  across the State. He was chairing a review meeting of Women and Child Development Department and Social Welfare Department in Mantralaya, officials informed.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister sought information in detail about ‘Mahtari Jatan Yojana’ and other departmental schemes from the officials concerned. Singh also reviewed the progress of ‘Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana’ run by Social Welfare Department.

Notably, the State Government had sanctioned 3,691 Anganwadi bhawans to be built soon at the Panchayats. Many are in various stages of construction.

They are being constructed jointly under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) and by State Women and Child Development Department.

The Anganwadi buildings are being given the look of Play Schools in urban centers so that kids are attracted towards the facilities. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ajay Chandrakar in a recent Departmental meet said that children are inherently attracted towards colours and paintings. It is a call of times to evolve Anganwadis as play schools, he said.

The Department officials said that 113 Anganwadi Bhawans had already been built and 2,459 Anganwadi Bhawans are under various stages of construction.
