Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday pulled up Public Works Department (PWD) officers for the poor condition of roads in the state.
Holding a review meeting, Baghel expressed his displeasure and said even after sanctioning funds to repair roads, the work has not been done. It shows sheer negligence, he said.
He asked the officers to expedite the work of roads under construction.
The roads where patchwork is required should be done on top priority. Within a week another review will be held, he said
The officers stated that Chhattisgarh Road and Infrastructure Development Corp Ltd (CRIDCL) will complete 150 roads and 15 bridges by December 2022, 160 roads and 20 bridges by March 2023 and 74 roads and 25 bridges by June 2023.
The other 34 roads and five bridges will be completed by December 2023.
