Chief Minister Raman Singh has paid homage to the senior leaders, police personnel and civilians killed in Maoist attack at Jeeram valley of Bastar’s Sukma district in Chhattisgarh on their first death anniversary on Sunday.

In his message, Singh said, “We had lost esteemed leaders and security personnel in the vile and cowardly attack by the Maoist rebels.”

He said that the martyrdom of Vidya Charan Shukla, Nand Kumar Patel, Mahendra Karma and other senior leaders and public representatives in the incident was a very tragic, unfortunate and heartbreaking incident.

Nand Kumar Patel’s son Dinesh Patel too was killed in the attack.

The incident had brought forth the anti-democratic, sordid and shameful character of Maoists, the Chief Minister said. “All those who believe in national unity, democracy, peace and non-violence had condemned

the incident in a single tone leaving aside their transcending ideological differences. Such solidarity against terrorism should always be maintained,” said Singh.”

“Our sympathy will always remain with the family members of the martyrs of Jeeram valley and we will support them by heart,” he concluded.
