Published on:

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Sunday approved construction of a stop dam near Bagicha village to ensure  regular drinking water supply in the district. He was on a surprise visit to village Sendrimunda of Kunkuri block in Jashpur district under ongoing State-wide lok Suraaj Abhiyan.

On his arrival, the Chief Minister held a Chaupal under a mango tree and interacted with people of the village. Singh gave patient hearing to demands and grievances of people, and gave necessary approvals and directives to meet their demands and redress their grievances.

The Chief Minister gave on-the-spot approval of Rs5 lakh each for construction of two cement-concrete roads in village Sendrimunda on request of villagers. When people of the village complained of low-voltage in the area, Singh gave directives to immediately install transformer in the village.

He also approved construction of 33KV sub-station for village Sendrimunda. In the Chaupal held at village Sendrimunda, people of village Sarabhkumbh were also present. They informed the Chief Minister about the persistent problem of water supply in their village especially during summer season.

They said that although Drinking Water Augmentation Scheme has been approved, construction works under the scheme have not been completed yet. This is the reason why the problem of water supply in village Sarabhkumbh could not be resolved. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand and Joint Secretary of Chief Minister Rajat Kumar were also present.

When people of Sendrimunda told the Chief Minister about the lack of water-exit facility in the village, Singh invited suggestions from them to solve this problem. On which, villagers suggested that construction of pond in the village could help in this direction.

Considering their suggestion, Chief Minister gave immediate approval for construction of pond in the village. The Chief Minister also enquired about the status quo of ration distribution and other problems in the village.

The villagers told Singh that there is no playground in the village. In response to which, the Chief Minister approved Rs50 lakh for construction of mini-stadium in village Sendrimunda. He also gave approval for boundary wall construction in High School and opening Sub-health centre in the village.

Singh directed the officials concerned for levelling agricultural farms in the area.
