Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) president Bhupesh Baghel has urged Chief Minister Raman Singh to clear his stance on providing minimum support price (MSP) and bonus for paddy purchase in the State.
He also urged Singh to speak on what efforts he has made to fulfill his promises made during the Assembly polls, including Rs2,100 per quintal MSP and Rs300 per quintal bonus for paddy purchase, after the BJP formed the Government in the State and the Centre.“The Government has only sanctioned Rs150 bonus for paddy purchase, which is just half of what it promised with the farmers” said the Congress leader.
Furthermore, as the State Government is not in favour to give away bonus on paddy during the next four years of this term, the Chief Minister is making the BJP-led Central Government to release an order of not giving bonus anymore, he said.“On the basis of such promises made with the people and farmers of the State, BJP could win maximum seats in the State Assembly and lok Sabha election” he claimed.
Baghel added that Singh is three times Chief Minister and an an influential leader.Singh can mount pressure on the Central Government to fulfill their promises of providing minimum support price of paddy at Rs2100 per quintal and Rs300 as bonus, he said.
