CM, ministers accused in Indira Bank scam: Congress

The State Congress claimed that the CD released by the State Congress programme coordinator Bhupesh Baghel and media department chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi on the narco test report of the Indira Priyadarshani Mahila Nagrik Sahkari Bank case was not fake.

A party press statement issued here on Monday said that it was made clear from the CD received under the Right to Information Act that the illusion spread by chief Minister Raman Singh, spokesperson Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and the Director General of Police has now been set to rest.

A member of the Indira Bank Sangharsh Samiti, Shankar Sonkar, in his application submitted under the Right to Information Act on July 31, 2013, had demanded from the police the copy of the narco test report and CD of the main accused in the scam, Umesh Sinha.

The police provided certified copy of the CD to Sonkar on August 13, which was akin to the one that was presented by the Congress to the media. In the certified CD also, it has been proved that the accused Umesh Sinha had paid money to the chief Minister, Raman Singh and Ministers Amar Agrawal, Brijmohan Agrawal, Ramvichar Netam and Rajesh Munat, the statement said.

After releasing the CD by the Congress, Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, in a press conference held, by terming the CD fake and delusive, had tried to save the Chief Minister and other Ministers. Now, as the certified CD has come to the fore, Chief Minister Raman Singh, Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and other Ministers accused in the case should immediately resign, the Congress demanded.

After the Congress released the CD, in a press conference an IG of police department also presented false reasoning in defence of the Chief Minister and other ministers accused in the case. As now the police have provided the certified copy of the CD, the police department is also liable for reply in this regard, the release said.

The police also have to reply that when it has conducted the narco test of the accused with the approval of the court, why it did not present the CD before the court as a supplementary evidence.

The Congress demanded that based on the narco test report of accused Umesh Sinha, Chief Minister Raman Singh and Ministers Brijmohan Agrawal, Rajesh Munat, Ramvichar Netam and Amar Agrawal should be made accused in the Indira Priyadarshani Mahila Nagrik Sahkari Bank scam.
