Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the commercial centre for traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine ‘Gadhkalewa’ in Surajpur town on Tuesday -- and went to enjoy along with his Ministers mouth-watering delicacies.
Baghel planted a sapling of ‘parijaat' in the Gadhkalewa premises. He lauded the self-help group Lakshmi Mahila Sangathan and motivated them to efficiently run the centre.
The Chief Minister and other Ministers enjoyed Chhattisgarhi food items at Gadhkalewa.
These included cheela, fara, dhuska, bada, bhajiya, namkeen, anarsa, khaja, thekua, kari laddu, cooked rice, dal, roti as well as hot and cold beverages. Gadhkalewa has been adorned with a number of huts to give it a commercial look.
At this outlet, developed on one acre land on the bank of Rihand river, people can enjoy traditional food items prepared by Lakshmi Mahila Cluster Sangathan Surajpur.
As Gadhkalewa is based on rural themes, food and snacks will be served in clay utensils to the customers.
According to the government, Gadhkaleva has been opened in Surajpur with the objective of making the new generation aware of the traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine.
