Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday congratulated Bastar woman mountaineer Naina Singh Dhakad.
President Draupadi Murmu recently awarded Dhakad with a land adventure award category under the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Sports Award for 2021, an official statement said.
She became the first woman mountaineer of the state to conquer the world's highest peak.
The Bastar woman hoisted the tricolour on Mount Everest in Nepal, at a height of 8,848.86 metres above sea level.
She also scaled Mount Lhotse, the world's fourth highest mountain (8,516 metres) in June last year.
