To provide free treatment and counselling to children addicted to drugs, a ‘mobile health clinic’ has been started by social organisation ‘Sankalp Sanskritik Samiti’ in association with ‘The Hans Foundation’, New Delhi.

Chief Minister Raman Singh flagged off the 'mobile health clinic' from his residence on the occasion of 'International Day against Drug Abuse' on Thursday.

He also released a poster published for awareness against drug abuse in presence of MlAs Bhaiyalal Rajwade and Shyam Bihari Jjaiswal. Singh appreciated the efforts of the office-bearers of Sankalp to help the children addicted to drugs and gave good wishes for the endeavour. He expressed hope that the mobile clinic will make a positive difference in the lives of children addicted to drugs.

The office-bearers of Sankalp informed the Chief Minister that a specialist doctor, paramedical staff and nurse will be available in the mobile clinic. Medical aid and counselling will be provided to needy persons in poor localities of the city. This is the third mobile health clinic of Sankalp.

Apart from treatment of children addicted to drugs, the mobile clinic will provide free treatment to children up to 2 years of age and thorough medical examination of expected mothers at their home.

Meanwhile a ‘De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center’ of Sankalp Sanskritik Samiti was inaugurated by School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap at Shankar Nagar.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Kashyap said that the government is committed for a drugs free society. Instead of taking strict action, the social menace can be removed by convincing people and creating awareness among them against drugs. A drugs free society can be developed only with participation of people along with social organisations in the campaign, said Kashyap.

Director of the Society, Manisha Sharma, Secretary Chunnilal and Coordinator of De-addiction Centre Ajay Srivastava besides other office-bearers and members of the society were present on the occasion.
