Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said he was “quite surprise” over Governor Anusuiya Uikey’s comment on renal complicacies leading to death in Supebeda.
“My minister and I have highest concern (over the situation). If Governor wants to visit (Supebeda), she is most welcome. In a way it will help to draw the attention of central government towards the problem,” he said while answering to a query.
He was interacting with media before leaving for Chitrakot from police ground on Saturday. The Chitrakot by-poll campaign ended on Saturday at 5.00 pm.
Governor on Friday had raised concern over deaths due to renal failure in Supebeda (Gariaband district) and announced that she would visit the place even by road if flight was not provided on October 22.
On October 2, health minister had visited Supebeda after a death was reported. All efforts are being made to know the actual reason for kidney diseases in Supebeda, the Chief Minister said.
On Chitrakot by-poll, Baghel said Congress would surely win. On the occasion of ‘Dhanteras’ the foundation stone for the new Raj Bhawan along with bunglows of ministers will be laid in Nava Raipur, he added.
“The earlier government had already spent Rs 6000 crores. The hard earned money of people will not be allowed to go waste, so there is need to populate the city. When ministers, officers start residing there, the population will move to new city,” he said.
On BJP raising tribal land issue, he said it was BJP government which took away land and Congress is instead providing land to the tribals and returning the unused acquired land.
Reacting to CM’s statement, Governor said on humanitarian ground, the visit was planned. Would write to Centre raising the issue, so relief is provided to affected people.
