Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of a teenage tribal boy, Shailendra Dhruv, who suffered from progeria.

Baghel tweeted: Got sad news that Shailendra Dhruv is no more with us. Shailendra, a resident of Medki Dabri village of Churra area in Gariaband, was suffering from progeria disease.

“We had fulfilled his wish of becoming Collector for one day but God had some other wish.”

God take care of him, may the family members get courage. Om Shanti.

In October 2021, the Chief Minister had invited Dhruv to Raipur and met him at the conference of Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police here.

The boy informed the Chief Minister that he wanted to serve the country as a Collector.

Dhruv was also given a place in the ‘Guard of Honour’ accorded to the Chief Minister by the police force after the conference concluded.
