CM exhorts Bastar folk to ensure BJP Govt's hat-trick

Buoyed by Bastar royal family joining Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh exhorted people of Bastar that if they wanted to ensure hat-trick of BJP Government formation in the state, no catch should be missed this time, apparently asking them to elect 12 MlAs out of the total 12 seats in this division.

Addressing a meeting attended by nearly 40 thousand people, Dr Singh said that the coming time would be of brisk development. Though the State Government has succeeded in ensuring the facility of drinking water, road and electricity at village level, if the BJP Government came to power again, the State will see four times more development, Singh added.

The Chief Minister said that so far 42 lakh people have already been given ration cards, there was no need of worrying for those who have been left. Their ration cards will also be issued. Regarding the Rs 270 per quintal bonus on paddy, Dr Singh promised that if the BJP Government returned to power, it would continue in addition to subsidised 35 kg rice, 2 kg gram and free of cost salt per month given to poor families. The State Government has distributed sarees to 12 lakh women, 12 lakh solar lanterns to residents of forested areas besides distribution of 12 lakh table lamps to school going children. In comparison to other States, much more forest rights papers have been given to the tribal people residing in Bastar while the State Government is considering providing them houses as well.

Taking a dig at the UPA Government’s promise to bring down inflation within 100 days of coming to power, Singh alleged that instead, the country witnessed 100 times increase in prices. On the other hand, the State Government is working in a systematic way towards providing employment to each and every person in the State.
