Accusing Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh of converting his official residence into a party office, the Opposition Congress on Wednesday sought action against him and submitted a memorandum to the chief electoral officer here.

A team led by city Congress committee chairman Vikash Upadhyaya met the State’s electoral officer Sunil Kujur and sought his immediate intervention.

According to Upadhyaya, the Chief Minister was holding regular meetings with party functionaries at his official residence in violation of the model code of conduct which has already come into force.

The other Congress party leaders who accompanied Upadhyaya include Satya Narayan Sharma, legislator Kuldip Juneja, Chhaya Verma, Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari, Shrikumar Menon, and Bhoj Kumari Yadu, Parvati Sahu.
