Eight-year-old Ankita looks normal but she is a special child, her brain is developed only as of one-and-half years old child, she abruptly tumbles while walking, she needs help to get dressed and besides all these she is unfortunately bereft of attending school alike her siblings, all of them younger to her.

But a tender touch with compassionate hand has changed her life and have brought glitter in her small eyes and smile on her lips after she received a wheel chair by Chief Minister himself, at Takatpur during Vikas Yatra. Elated father of Ankita, Hiralal resident of Takhatpur said that my daughter was also a healthy normal girl but as she grew we realised that she could not walk properly without help, nor she could talk and communicate as other normal children do.

She needs round the clock vigil and either of the parents remain close to her for addressing her needs. Seeing her condition she could unfortunately not attend the school but her younger siblings go to school, Hiralal says. Hiralal who is a labourer, toiled hard to meet the family needs and in such grinding circumstances he heard about many schemes of state government being run for such type of special children.

Hiralal wrote an application to the government detailing her daughter’s plight and State Government responded immediately by providing a wheel chair to Ankita. During Vikas Yatra while Chief Minister Raman Singh reached Takhatpur he went close to wheelchair bound Ankita and caresses her that was something which has brought smile on her face and twinkles in her eyes, Hiralal added. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the chief minister Raman Singh for compassionate expressions and such wonderful policies helping people of the State.
