Chief Minister Raman Singh has assured that power connection for irrigation pumps would be provided to the delegation of tribal farmers who had arrived from village Sarkanda of Gariaband district to meet him here on Thursday.
The farmers who arrived CM’s Jandarshan on Thursday morning stated that 10 tribal farmers have dug up tubewells in their respective farms in village two years back but could not get a single drop of water. The delegation members also stated that Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company had provided an estimate of Rs 52,000 for each of us who wanted a connection but the amount is quite exhorbitant for farmers, they said.
The delegation comprised farmers from village Sarkanda Radheshyam Agar singh Dhru, Johan and others.
The farmers urged to the Chief Minister to get them financial aid for power connections for their tube wells and handed over a memorandum to him .To this, the Chief Minister assured to consider their demand compassionately. On the directives of the Chief Minister the application of the delegation was sent for necessary action to the Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Power Distribution Company ltd.
