Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday announced financial assistance of Rs 11 crore to Himachal Pradesh where heavy rains and landslides have wreaked havoc.
Baghel said a severe natural calamity has hit the 'Devbhoomi' (land of gods) and people of Chhattisgarh were standing with the people of Himachal, an official statement said.
Baghel on Thursday spoke to his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over phone.
Heavy rains have lashed Himachal Pradesh since Sunday, triggering landslides in Shimla and several districts. The number of deaths in rain-related incidents has increased to 72.
