Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh and a job to the mother of Rahul Sahu, a differently able child saved after being trapped for 105 hours in a tube well.
Baghel made the announcement after family members of Rahul and people from Pihrid village in Janjgir-Champa district made a courtesy call on the Chief Minister here.
They thanked the Chief Minister for rescuing Rahul and ensuring his medical treatment. Baghel made the announcement due to the weak financial condition of the family, an official communication said.
Baghel the rescue operation was a success due to collective efforts, patience of the people involved in operation and their hard work 24x7.
He also praised the doctors who treated Rahul. He added that the government will bear the entire cost of Rahul's speech therapy and education.
Rahul, 11, was trapped in a 60-feet deep abandoned tube well and was rescued on June 15.
