Janjgir-Champa Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary on Saturday suspended the clerk of the district Education Department and sacked a computer operator for financial fraud.
The Collector asked the Education Department to register a case against the owner of the Mayura Convent School. An amount of Rs 35,03,328 is to be recovered from the school, an official communication said.
It was found that Education Department clerk Shivanand Rathore and computer operator Vikas Sao in collusion with the school owner released Rs 72 lakhs under the Right to Education (RTE) to the school through the RTE portal. The amount was in excess of the actual.
The Directorate of Public Instructions, Raipur, was also told to terminate the recognition of the school.
