CKC presents 11-point demand to State Govt

Several demands pertaining to State Government which the BJP had promised to fulfil after coming to power were raised by Chhattisgarh Karmachari Congress (CKC) during a Press conference on Sunday.

BP Sharma, the State president of CKC presented the 11-point demand and said that the organisation wants to resolve the pending demands at the earliest so that daily-wage workers, labourers, staffers and officials of the State are benefited.

Sharma presenting the demands said mid-day meal scheme cooks deserve a minimum honorarium of Rs 2,000, while there should be appropriate rise in the payment of dishwasher who assists the cooks. He argued that with ever increasing inflation, it is impossible for any family to survive on mere amount of Rs 2,000 every month. “Mid-day meal is one of the flagship programmes of the State Government and people engaged in making it a success should be compensated well for their services,” the CSK State president said.

Raising other points, Sharma said there is urgent need to terminate Confidential Report (CR) system in the administration, as it forces the subordinates to be loyal to their superior officers rather than working for Government and people. “Such systems were developed during colonial rule when handful of Britishers controlled

their Indian employees through this CR mechanism, which now needs to be changed,” Sharam expressed. Sharma stressed that the service book of any employee can display the conduct and honesty of any worker.

He further said CKC also demands pension benefits for nearly 14000 daily- wage workers in accordance of their seniority which was promised by the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh before coming to power in year 2008. He informed that CKC also demands for special allowances for the staffers and officials working in the Naxal-infested areas. He vehemently demanded that advisory committee meetings in all of the departments should be convened on regular basis.
