As the Christmas, the biggest festival for the Christians community, is just a couple of days away, the community has started its preparation to receive the birth of the lord Jesus Christ. In every church there is the sound of carol singing. People of all ages are singing carols by reaching door-to-door.
like every year, people of the community take out rallies and sing traditional devotional songs commemorating the birth of Jesus of Nazareth before Christmas. In every locality, preparations are on in a traditional manner. All churches are illuminated with attractive lights. Houses are also decorated with attractive stars and lighting. Preparation of Christmas cakes and sweets is another attraction of the occasion.
Before Christmas, the Christian community in the city has taken out a huge rally. Children in large number gather on the roadsides to receive gifts from Santa Clause. In the rally, young girls and boys gave messages of human welfare by singing songs related to the personality of lord Jesus. The community, by giving the message of religious harmony, has appealed to all the people to walk in the way shown by lord Jesus. A rally started from the local Baselian Methodist church and went through Kamti line, Bharat Mata Chowk, Purana Thana, Durg Chowk, Cinema line, Gudaku line and Post Office Chowk and culminated at the church.
According to informed sources, people of community have gathered to celebrate Christmas at local level and have prepared attractive tableaux at the churches to describe the life and teachings of lord Jesus Christ.
