The Arogyam Prevention and Control Society on Sunday held a free diabetes check-up camp in Magneto The Mall to mark World Diabetes Day on November 14 here.
Besides, a host of activities including painting, jump rope and a quiz contest was organised for children of different age groups. A number of children participated in the painting competition based on ‘Diabetes and lifestyle’. The competition was organized in three categories i.e. 5 to 10 years, 11 to 15 years and 16 to 18 years of age groups. The children also made drawings on yoga, blood donation, foods and other topics.
On the occasion, the Society President, Biplab Bandopadhyay delivered a speech on causes, symptoms and preventions of diabetes. In the quiz contest, questions related to diabetes, reasons and its effects on human body were asked to the public. The society will launch a rally to spread awareness about the disease among the masses on November 12 from Shastry Chowk.
