Congress candidate from Raipur lok Sabha seat Chhaya Verma on Tuesday reached the residence of her opponent and former Union Minister and sitting BJP MP Ramesh Bais and dared him to face a debate at an open forum. Handing him a list of 19 questions, she challenged him to answer the questions.
In case, the Congress candidate said, he is able to give satisfactory answers, she would withdraw from the contest. People are feeling themselves ignored and cheated because of his failure to discharge his duty as a public representative, she said. After talking for five minutes she left the place. Bais extended his good wishes on her candidature. Upset over his remarks describing her as a ‘fuse bulb’ in the wake of announcement of her candidature from the seat, she reached his residence.
In the list of questions, she said, “Your mindless and baseless comments have insulted women folk. They are highly upset and caused a great amount of hurt to me. Residents of Raipur have given you chance to become MP six times. I feel you are afraid of facing me in the battle of ballot and are making such baseless remarks” she said.
