The Chhattisgarh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sent 160 farmers besides 60 of its office bearers from State Kisan Morcha wing to Gujarat for seeking lessons from the ‘farmer-friendly’ policies of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and globally renowned agricultural scientists.
The Kisan Morcha team from Chhattisgarh would be attending the three–day ‘Bright Gujarat Agriculture Global Summit’ beginning tomorrow at Gujarat’s State capital Gandhinagar. ‘The Kisan Morcha teams from Chhattisgarh have already left on September 8 for Gandhinagar. The Agricultural Development Rate in Gujarat under the leadership of its Chief Minister Narendra Modi has touched 11.4 per cent development rate which is a national record,’ a party statement issued here on Sunday stated.
The teams had left for Gandhinagar under the leadership of Kishan Morcha State President Sandeep Sharma and its Raipur District President Ramesh Yadu. Chhattisgarh's farmers would be showcased how Gujarat through its scientific research and technology development in the Agri sector during the past decade had served as example for farmers in other states to follow its development model.
The summit would have global Agri experts and farmers sharing techniques used by them to boost agricultural production. The farmers from Chhattisgarh many of whom had been awarded by the State Government for their innovative farming techniques would also share their experience in the summit. The finer points of Agri-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh Government would be presented in the summit by the Kishan Morcha’s State President Sandeep Sharma.
