Chhattisgarh observed an ‘Alcohol Prohibition Week’ from October 2 to 8 to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Social Welfare Minister Anila Bhedia initiated the programmes for the week by flagging off a ‘Rath’ that covered rural areas to create awareness against liquor addiction.
A number of programmes were also held to generate awareness among people to dissuade them from consuming liquor, an official release said on Friday.
