Chhattisgarh on Monday launched a toll free child helpline number 1800-123-6010 at a programme on child protection organized by the Crime Research Department, Police Headquarters and UNICEF.
A booklet on juvenile delinquency was released. Nine videos based on child safety were showcased. Police officers having done excellent work in child safety were felicitated at a function here.
A state-wide ‘Child Safety Week’ was launched to mark Children’s Day. The aim is to make parents and citizens aware of the need to protect and encourage children. A drawing and painting competition too was held.
An intensive campaign will be launched against child labor and begging. Strict legal action will be taken against culprits while rescuing the victim children, an official statement said.
