The 14-day budget session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly will commence from March 1. It will end on March 24, Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant announced on Tuesday.
The session will commence with the Governor's address. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will table the budget for 2023-24 on March 6.
The discussion on the budget is scheduled from March 14 to 22. The assembly will close for Holi and recommence from March 13, Mahanta told the media.
On March 1, the Third Supplementary Appropriation Bill will be tabled. Around 98.37 percent of questions have been registered online by members. The total questions raised by members is 1,730, including 889 starred and 841 un-starred.
He added that nine government resolutions, two amendment bills of the Chhattisgarh Municipal Corporation Act 1956 (Amendment) Bill 2023 and the Chhattisgarh Municipality Act 1961 (Amendment) Bill 2023, 57 call attention motions and 23 Zero Hour motions have been received.
Mahant said an android mobile application will be launched on March 1 where most of the day-to-day activities of the assembly proceedings will be provided to the media and elected representatives.
The newly built 14 rooms for cabinet ministers will be inaugurated on March 1. The restriction on public entry into the assembly imposed after the Covid-19 pandemic has been lifted.
Mahant said he felt the session should be a longer one as it is the last budget session of the assembly. The monsoon session, likely in July, will be the last before the state goes to the polls by end of the year.
