Chhattisgarh BJP adopts Modi's media strategy

Working on the lines of BJP’s National Poll Campaign Chief Narendra Modi to strengthen all the party’s ‘media cells’ for Mission-2014, the Chhattisgarh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have commenced holding workshops to train its district level Media Cell chiefs for the forthcoming Assembly polls in the State.

A State-level Media workshop was held at the Chhattisgarh BJP headquarters in Raipur on Sunday which was addressed by Chief Minister Raman Singh in the presence of BJP’s National General Secretary and In-charge of  Chhattisgarh JP Nadda and other State-level senior leaders of the party in Raipur.

Singh, while describing the role of the Media In-charges as ‘king makers’ said that they are the ones who remain in the background with the responsibility of propagating the welfare schemes of the State Government.

He said that the State Government has launched more than 3,000 financial schemes which need to be promoted in the State.Singh said that the Media In-charges would play a crucial role in getting a ‘hatrick win’ for the BJP in the forthcoming Assembly polls.

launching a scathing attack on the Congress party’s working style, the Chief Minister stated that the Congress has backtracked on the issue of ‘Tax Free Zones. ‘The Congress party has so many of its State Governments in the country where it should first establish ‘Tax Free Zones’ before talking of Chhattisgarh’.

He said that the Congress party starts preparing  ‘verbal defences’ as soon as the polls start nearing and forget all their promises after the Government is formed.

‘The State Congress President must understand that he is also a Union Minister. Then why not ask his Government at the Centre to implement the ‘Tax Free Zones’ in Congress-ruled states’, Singh said.

The UPA Government had promised to bring down the price spiral within 100 days of its rule. However, leave aside bringing down the rising prices, it made the lives of people miserable, he said.

BJP’s National General Secretary and In-charge of Chhattisgarh J P Nadda spoke about media’s role and its responsibilities during polls. BJP’s National Spokesperson Dr Sudhanshu Dwivedi also spoke about the role of media in the polls.

The State BJP Convenor of the IT Cell Deepak Mashkey asked the Media In-charges  to extensively present the news from newspapers with statistics to the general public.
