Chairman of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) KDP Rao has asked officials to strictly check cheating during the Board examinations without unnecessarily harassing students. He also directed to set up a Control Room in every district for exchanging information related with exams. Rao was reviewing preparations for CGBSE exam starting from February 23 this year in the State. Commissioner Raipur and Durg divisions Bl Tiwari along with Collector and Superintendent of Police of both districts also took part in the meeting.
Rao suggested creating enough flying squads for stopping cheating during examinations and also making elaborate security arrangements in exam centers. “Control rooms should be set up in every district from where reports would be sent to Board office,” Rao said. The use of unfair means should be discouraged and fair and free exams should be conducted. For this purpose the district administration and police should nominate nodal officers, Rao added.
While directing collectors to ask Exam Centre Head to take examination work seriously, Rao made it clear that strict action would be taken against Exam Centre In-charge if their involvement in promoting use of unfair means during exams is found. He directed to arrange necessary furniture in all exam centers along with provision of electricity supply, drinking water, toilet, first-aid, medical kit and ORS. “Use of any kind of loud speakers should be banned around the examination centers,” Rao said.
In sensitive exam centers flying squads should make frequent rounds, Rao suggested. He asked district Collectors and SPs to ensure easy access to exam centres. Free travel in buses for students during examination could be provisioned so that they could easily reach examination halls, Rao said, adding, question papers should be distributed on time and answer sheets must be submitted in police stations on time.
