R S Chaturvedi has taken over charge as Executive Director (Projects) of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) on Friday.
Armed with a B.Tech in Electrical Engg, Chaturvedi joined SAIl in January 1981 in Bhilai Steel Plant’s Plate Mill as Management Trainee (Technical).
Chaturvedi rose through the ranks in Plate Mill to become Manager in 1992, AGM in 1999 and then on to become DGM (Plate Mill) in June 2004, according to a BSP press release In June 2006, Chaturvedi was transferred to Bhilai’s Wire Rod Mill as DGM (Wire Rod Mill).
In June 2010, he was elevated as General Manager and given responsibility in Bokaro Steel limited as GM (Wire Rod Mill).
In May 2011, he was given charge of Hot Rolled Coil Finishing in Bokaro itself as GM (HRCF). In June 2015, he was given charge of Projects in Bokaro as GM In-charge (Projects)
On January 9, 2016, Chaturvedi was promoted to the rank of Executive Director and given charge of Projects in Bhilai Steel Plant as ED (Projects). He has taken charge from SK Ghosh who has been in-charge of Projects in Bhilai as GM I/c.
