The youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday accused Congress chief and Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Charan Das Mahant of betraying the youths.
“Despite being the Union Minister of State for Agriculture, he has not taken any step to provide jobs to the unemployed youths of Chhattisgarh” State Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president Anurag Singh Deo here said.
He said Mahant had an opportunity to decide the setting up a food park in Chhattisgarh but instead of doing that he wanted in the constituency of Congress Yuvraj Rahul Gandhi. By doing that he deprived more than 30,000 youths from getting job in the State, he alleged.
It is time for Mahant to explain why he sacrificed the interest of Chhattisgarh youths, he said. Accusing him of not raising any major issues of the State in the parliament,
Singh Deo said Mahant also failed to bring any important scheme to the State which would benefit the farmers.
Accusing him of taking more care of Congress Yuvraj Rahul Gandhi rather than the people of his home state, the BJP leader said establishment of a food park could have helped the farmers to get better prices for their products.
Chhattisgarh produces vegetable ten times more than Amethi but Mahant preferred to satisfy the people by establishing only a small fish market. A new State like Chhattisgarh requires a food park more than any other States, he said.
BJYM general secretary Bhupendra Singh said Mahant should explain how many times he has raised the issues concerning the youths of the state in the parliamentIJ It was Chief Minister Raman Singh who created opportunities for youths in both villages and towns.
Even those who have passed class five, eight, ten and eleven were provided free training in the State under a State scheme so that they become self employed or work in different areas. It seems Mahant does not want the welfare of the youths, people of Chhattisgarh, he alleged.
