At the time when country is boiling over rape cases and increasing crime graph, eminent personalities including former Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Padmashree DR Karthikeyan, Justice lC Bhadu and others took part in a discussion over “crime free society and our responsibility” at Shanti Srovar, the State head office of Prajapita Bramhkumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya Raipur on Sunday.
Padmashree DR Kartikeyan addressing the gathering said that society could be made crime free and healthy through spirituality. In the present materialistic era every person wants to amass wealth, but this is a bitter truth that reality that only hard work and truthfulness can avail satisfaction. Kartikeyan who was head of the team probing assassination of Rajiv Gandhi held corruption as major reason of crime.
“If people learn to live with limited resources, then society can be improved but people want to gain more from what they deserve, which is leading to increasing corruption,” said Kartikeyan. He was of the view that the most dangerous pollution is mind pollution which can be cleared only through philosophy.
Earlier, Chief Guest of the program Justice lC Bhadu said until the spirit is under control crime is hard to control. “Nature has given enough resources to live on but problem arises when people exploit resources out mof greed.”
According to Justice Bhadu election system is also responsible for corruption. He was of view that with development in society crime has also developed.
Chairman of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission Pradeep Joshi said that with development of spirituality in any man several problems can be solved. Whatever we want to do we have so start it with ourselves, he said.
Commissioner Chhattisgarh Housing Board Sonmoni Borah who was also present on the occasion expressing his views said, any person is not criminal by birth but under circumstances and company the persons indulges in crime. Several key personalities were present during the programme.
