Indiscipline lifestyles is the root cause of all diseases and one can achieve good health by staying in right environment and practicing spirituality, Shankaracharya of Puri Swami Nischalananda Saraswati said here on Friday.
Speaking at a workshop on ‘religion, spiritualism and development of medical science’, jointly organised by Aditya Vahini and Anand Vahini at the medical college conference hall, Saraswati said every child takes birth with a good health.
But as time passes, the baby becomes adult and gets entangled with diseases because of the change in food habits and living style.
People can stay disease free by staying in right environment and maintaining purity in their heart. Without spiritualism, medical education is not possible, he said.
People are running after materialism to achieve more by sacrificing peace. As a result they are changing their eating habits, staying tense and ruining their families. One can get rid of problems by adopting a spiritual life, he added.
He reminded that in ancient days patients were healed by touch and soft speech which seems to have lost. He advised doctors to treat a patient with care by giving importance on his mental health.
